America has seen the results of an over dependence on unfriendly or unstable petroleum sources, such as the Middle East, Nigeria, Mexico, and Venezuela. Energy Security means that Americans in general and North Dakotans in particular need not worry about have a secure, ample, and reasonably priced domestic petroleum, coal, natural gas, and biofuel supply. Energy security means that the United States will not be forced to intervene abroad to protect critical resources. Our National Security is directly tied to energy security. North Dakota is in the forefront of energy development in this country. The Public Service Commission is on the front lines defending our state's right to develop every energy resource.
